Orissa High Court: Writ Courts Can’t Decide Child Custody Unless It’s Illegally Retained - (26 Feb 2026)

Orissa High Court held that writ courts should not decide child custody disputes via habeas corpus petitions unless custody is illegally retained and must refer complex cases requiring detailed inquiry to the competent Civil Court for proper adjudication.
