Calcutta HC: Economic Abuse Enables DV Case at Current Residence - (19 Feb 2026)

Calcutta HC has held that under the Domestic Violence (DV) Act, a court has jurisdiction where the aggrieved person temporarily resides or where a cause of action arises. "Economic abuse" is considered a continuous cause of action, justifying the case filing where the victim currently lives
