Supreme Court: Award Valid Even If Passed After Mandate Expiry When Court Extends Time - (04 Feb 2026)

ARBITRATION

The court observed “we are of the opinion that provisions of the Act, particularly Section 29A, must not be interpreted to infer a threshold bar for application under Section 29A(5) for extension of the mandate of the arbitrator even when an award is passed, though after the expiry of the mandate.”
