Calcutta HC: Supplementary Chargesheet Filed Late in NDPS Trial is Valid if Based on Fresh Evidence - (03 Feb 2026)

Calcutta High Court dismissed a criminal revision petition challenging a late-stage supplementary chargesheet in an NDPS case, holding that under Section 173(8) CrPC, it is permissible if based on further investigation revealing fresh evidence, even near trial completion.
