Bombay HC: An Adopted Child’s Caste is Considered the Same as That of the Adoptive Parents - (02 Feb 2026)

Bombay High Court held that an adopted child’s caste is the same as that of the adoptive parents, quashing the Deputy Collector, Pune’s order, in a case where a woman had legally adopted a boy in 2014 under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
