Del HC: Probationers are ‘Workmen’ under ID Act; S.17B Wages not Recoverable if Termination Upheld - (29 Jan 2026)

LABOUR AND INDUSTRIAL

Delhi High Court held that probationary employees are ‘workmen’ under Section 2(s) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, but their termination without a full departmental inquiry is valid if it is a simple, non-stigmatic termination order.
