P&H HC: Customary Restrictions Can't Stop Widow From Alienating Non-Ancestral Property - (28 Jan 2026)

PROPERTY

Punjab and Haryana High Court held that a widow can freely alienate non-ancestral property inherited from her husband without collateral consent, ruling that any customary restrictions limiting her rights are unconstitutional and cannot override the principles of equality and personal autonomy.
