Madras HC: Encroachment on a Public Street Cannot be Allowed Even If It Has a Religious Character - (27 Jan 2026)

Madras High Court observed that encroachments cannot be permitted on public places or land vested in a local body even if they have a religious character, and held that it is the duty of the Municipal Commissioner to remove such encroachments after issuing due notice.
