SC: Disclosure Statements Alone Cannot Secure Conviction Without a Complete Chain of Evidence - (19 Jan 2026)

Supreme Court set aside a murder conviction, observing that confessional statements under Section 27 of the Evidence Act and related discoveries cannot alone sustain conviction, particularly when the chain of circumstantial evidence is incomplete.
