Supreme Court Orders Reporting of Student Suicides and Bans Denial of Classes or Exams - (19 Jan 2026)

EDUCATION

Expressing concern over rising suicides in higher educational institutions, the Supreme Court issued interim directions mandating all HEIs to report every such incident, regardless of location or mode of study, and to ensure round-the-clock access to qualified medical assistance.
