Supreme Court: Multiple Complaints Are Valid For Dishonour of Several Cheques in One Transaction - (12 Jan 2026)

BANKING

Supreme Court held that dishonour of multiple cheques from the same transaction creates separate causes of action under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, and prosecutions cannot be quashed merely due to the multiplicity of complaints.
