Delhi HC: Judge Who Reserved Judgment Must Deliver Verdict Despite Transfer; Successor Can't Rehear - (09 Jan 2026)

CRIMINAL

Delhi High Court has held that once a criminal trial concludes and the matter is reserved for judgment, the judge who heard the case is obligated to pronounce the verdict, even if transferred, and the successor judge cannot order a rehearing or decide the case afresh.
