Cal HC Orders Change of Prosecutor In 2021 Murder Case, Says Accused Cannot Be Detained Indefinitely - (05 Jan 2026)

CRIMINAL

Calcutta High Court held that an accused cannot be detained indefinitely, criticising the State for delay in a 2021 murder trial where the accused has spent over four years in custody and only one of 39 prosecution witnesses has been partly examined.
