NCLAT: Amounts Listed As ‘Other Advances’ in Company’s Balance Sheet aren’t Financial Debt under IBC - (12 Dec 2025)

INSOLVENCY

NCLAT, Delhi, recently held that amounts recorded as “other advances” in a company’s balance sheet, including long-standing advances with no repayment demand, do not constitute borrowings and thus cannot be treated as financial debt under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
