Kerala HC: Forklifts and Factory Cranes Are Motor Vehicles and Must be Registered under MV Act - (24 Nov 2025)

MOTOR VEHICLES

Kerala High Court held that forklifts and cranes used solely inside factory premises are still “motor vehicles” under Section 2(28) of the Motor Vehicles Act, requiring registration and tax. The court upheld the Motor Vehicles Department’s bar on using unregistered machines.
