Madras HC: Police Superintendent not Liable For IO’s Delay In Filing Chargesheet or Closure Report - (21 Nov 2025)

CIVIL

Madras High Court held that a Superintendent of Police cannot be held liable for investigating officers’ negligence in delaying final or closure reports. While SPs must monitor investigations, they are not responsible for such lapses. The court set aside disciplinary action against five SPs.
