SC: Long Custody or Trial Delay Not Ground for Bail in Commercial Narcotic Cases if S.37 Unmet - (14 Nov 2025)

NARCOTICS

Supreme Court held that trial delays or prolonged custody alone cannot justify bail in commercial quantity narcotics cases if Section 37 NDPS Act conditions are unmet, setting aside Bombay High Court orders granting bail to Vigin K Varghese in major DRI cocaine and methamphetamine cases.
