Bombay HC: Parents Saying Daughter was Unhappy, Wept Often not Enough to Convict under 498A IPC - (07 Nov 2025)

CRIMINAL

Bombay High Court ruled that a woman’s husband or in-laws cannot be convicted under Section 498A IPC solely based on her parents’ claims that she was unhappy in her marriage and often wept due to alleged harassment, stating such statements are insufficient proof of cruelty.
