Supreme Court: No Additional Post-Award Interest if Award Fixes Interest Rate until Payment - (25 Sep 2025)

ARBITRATION

Supreme Court held that if an arbitral award sets a composite interest rate covering the entire period from cause of action to payment, the award holder cannot claim additional compound interest at the post-award stage under Section 31(7)(b) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
