HP HC: Accidentally Shooting a Person, Mistaking them for a Wild Animal, is Negligence, Not Murder - (23 Sep 2025)

CRIMINAL

The Himachal Pradesh High Court held that accidentally shooting a person while mistaking them for a wild animal amounts to death caused by negligence under Section 106 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita. It does not amount to murder under Section 103 of the BNS.
