Punjab & Haryana HC: Unwelcome Talk with Woman is Annoying but Not Outraging Her Modesty - (23 Sep 2025)

CRIMINAL

Punjab and Haryana High Court held that merely initiating an unwelcome conversation with a woman, though annoying, does not amount to the criminal offence of outraging her modesty under Section 354 of the IPC. Annoyance alone is insufficient to establish the offence.
