Bombay HC: Refusing Residence to Brother’s Wife in Shared Household is Domestic Violence - (22 Sep 2025)

CRIMINAL

Bombay High Court held that preventing a woman from residing in her shared household amounts to domestic violence under Section 3 of the Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The right to reside under Section 17 exists regardless of any right, title, or beneficial interest in the property.
