Himachal Pradesh High Court: Recovery of Money without Proof of Demand Is Not Bribery - (17 Sep 2025)

CRIMINAL

Himachal Pradesh High Court upheld the acquittal of a Forest Officer accused of taking a Rs.3000 bribe, holding that mere recovery of tainted money does not prove bribery without clear evidence of a demand and voluntary acceptance of the illegal gratification by the accused.
