Delhi High Court: UGC Cannot Debar a University from PhD Admissions under UGC Act - (17 Sep 2025)

EDUCATION

Delhi High Court held that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has no authority under the UGC Act, 1956 or its Regulations to debar a university from enrolling PhD students, stating there is no provision in the Act that grants such power for alleged non-compliance with its rules.
