SC Orders Status Quo on Mhadei Tiger Reserve, Seeks CEC Report on Goa’s Proposed Project - (10 Sep 2025)

ENVIRONMENT

Supreme Court directed the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) to examine the proposal to notify Goa's Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary and surrounding areas as a tiger reserve and submit a report within six weeks, while ordering Goa to maintain the status quo in the region during this period.
