SC: 'Obstruction' u/s 186 IPC Includes Impediment to Public Servant’s Duty, Not Just Physical Force - (21 Aug 2025)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has clarified that Section 186 of IPC does not require physical force or violence. Any act, including threats, intimidation, or deliberate non-cooperation, that impedes a public servant from performing lawful duties, qualifies as obstruction.
