Delhi HC: No Insistence of ID Card in Pregnancy Cases of Rape Victims - (03 Jun 2025)

LAW OF MEDICINE

Delhi HC has observed that while requirement of an identity card may be a valid protocol in routine pregnancy cases to ensure compliance with PC&PNDT Act, 1994 no such insistence should be made when a rape victim is brought for medical examination and ultrasound by the IO after registration of FIR.
