SC Rejects Accused’s Plea of Reducing Sentence in POCSO Case - (28 May 2025)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court while dismissing petition seeking reduction of 20-year rigorous imprisonment granted to accused under POCSO Act, 2012 has stated that 20 years of punishment is the minimum statutorily mandated punishment under Section 6 of the Act and does not require any interference.
