SC: Filing of Cheque Dishonour Complaint to be at Place of Payee Bank - (07 Mar 2025)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has observed that a complaint of cheque dishonor under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 should be filed in the Court having jurisdiction over the bank where the payee presents the cheque for collection.
