SC: Should Not Grant Stay on Discharge Orders Unless Exceptional Circumstances Arise - (28 Feb 2025)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has held that stay on discharge should never be granted unless circumstances are exceptional and further held that even for action under section 390 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC), it should be bail and not jail.
