SC: Evidence Act does Not Prescribe Minimum Age for Witness - (25 Feb 2025)

Supreme Court while overturning the acquittal of a man after relying on child witness testimony, has observed that the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 does not prescribe any minimum age for a witness, and as such a child witness is a competent witness and his or her evidence cannot be rejected outrightly.
