SC: If Possession Is Granted, Agreement to Sell Attracts Stamp Duty - (18 Feb 2025)

CIVIL

Supreme Court has observed that an agreement to sell that specifies delivery of the possession of the property would satisfy the requirement to treat the instrument as a 'conveyance' and shall be subject to stamp duty as per the Bombay Stamp Act, 1958.
