SC Grants Benefit of Probation of Offenders Act to Accused on Ground of Settlement between Parties - (10 Jan 2025)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court invoked its jurisdiction under Article 142 of COI and granted benefit of the Probation of Offenders Act, 1958 to the accused considering the fact that a settlement was reached between the parties and no criminal antecedents against accused were brought to the notice of the Court.
