Gauhati HC: Courts Must Consider Releasing Accused on Probation Under 1958 Act - (09 Jan 2025)

CRIMINAL

Gauhati High Court has opined that a court may not grant benefit to the accused under Probation of Offenders Act, 1958 considering the facts of a case, however, consideration must be given for release on probation as it is right of the accused and duty of the courts.
