SC: Police Officials Accused of Misconduct During Tenure Ought to be Tried Summarily - (16 Dec 2024)

NARCOTICS

SC while quashing summons against an IPS officer over allegations of misconduct, has stated that Special Judge is not empowered to issue a notice u/s 58 of NDPS Act because the proceedings commenced u/s 58 are summary in nature and ought to be presided over by the judicial magistrate.
