SC: Can’t Invoke Preventive Detention against Every Alleged Breach of Peace - (13 Dec 2024)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has observed that preventive detention cannot be invoked against every act of breach of peace as it is a harsh measure and this power can be invoked only when the acts of the proposed detainee are the one which have a tendency of disturbing the public order.
