SC: Delay in Payment of Compensation is in Contravention of Article 300A - (23 Sep 2024)

LAND ACQUISITION

Supreme Court has held that delay in the payment of compensation to the landowners after taking away ownership of their land from them is in contravention to the spirit of the constitutional scheme of Article 300A and the idea of a welfare State.
