SC: Benefit of Section 479 BNSS Extended to Undertrials in Cases Registered Before 1st July - (26 Aug 2024)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has held that Section 479 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 shall have a retrospective application across the country and shall be applicable on undertrials in cases registered before July 1, 2024.
