SC: When Sentence Imposed is for Fixed Term, Court Should Consider Suspension of Sentence - (05 Jul 2024)

CRIMINAL

SC has observed that law is well settled that if sentence imposed by trial court is for a fixed term, then ordinarily the appellate court should consider plea for suspension of sentence liberally unless there are any exceptional circumstances emerging from record of the case to decline such relief.
