SC: No Need for PMLA Acc. to Fulfill S. 45 Conditions When Furnis. Bond After Appearing Before Court - (16 May 2024)

CRIMINAL

SC has observed that if accused appears before Special Court pursuant to summons, it cannot be treated that he is in custody. Therefore, it is not necessary for the accused to fulfill the twin conditions of Section 45 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) while furnishing bonds.
