SC: Bail Application Filed Through Advocate Not to be Considered Appearance of Absconding Accused - (18 Mar 2024)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has held that filing of an anticipatory bail through an advocate would not and could not be treated as an appearance before a court by a person against whom proceedings under Sections 82 and 83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 are instituted.
