SC: Article 20 Doesn’t Restrain Court from Imposing Lesser Punishment According to New Enforced Law - (11 Mar 2024)

CONSTITUTION

Supreme Court has held imposition of lesser punishment by courts, according to a new law that was enforced after the date of committing an offence, cannot be restrained under Article 20(1) of the Constitution of India.
