Supreme Court: Position of Deputy Chief Minister Merely A Label, Appointment Not Unconstitutional - (12 Feb 2024)

ADMINISTRATIVE

SC while dismissing a PIL challenging the appointment of Deputy Chief Ministers, has held that a Deputy Chief Minister is first a minister in the government of the states and the post is only a label, hence the title of a Deputy Chief Minister does not breach the constitutional position.
