SC: S. 197 CrPC not Applicable for Prosecuting Public Servant Alleged to Have Created Fake Documents - (18 Jan 2024)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has held that prior sanction under section 197 of Code of Criminal Procedure for prosecuting a public servant is not required if the public servant is alleged to be involved in the act of creating fake documents as the same do not form a part of his official duty.
