SC: Criminal Action Can’t be Taken u/s 5(1) COTPA Against Persons Not Engaged in Tobacco Business - (17 Jan 2024)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has held that criminal action under Section 5 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act 2003 (COTPA) cannot be taken against a person who is not involved in tobacco business.
