Pat. HC: Forcefully Applying Sindoor Alone Doesn’t Mean Marriage - (24 Nov 2023)

Patna High Court while observing that mere application of sindoor (vermilion) on a woman's forehead under coercion does not constitute a valid marriage under Hindu law, has held that if ‘saptapadi’ has not been completed, the marriage would not be considered to be complete and binding.
