SC: Departmental Proceeding is Initiated Only When a Chargesheet is Issued - (16 Oct 2023)

SERVICE

Supreme Court has held that the departmental proceeding is not initiated merely on the issuance of a show cause notice, it is initiated only when a chargesheet is issued, i.e. the date of application of mind on the allegations leveled against an employee by the competent authority.
