Del HC: Making Chairpersons Liable for Cheque Dishonour Would Unfairly Expand Vicarious Liability - (18 Apr 2023)

CRIMINAL

Delhi High Court has quashing cheque dishonor proceedings under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, observed that holding chairpersons liable for cheques issued in day-to-day affairs of the business would unfairly and unnecessarily expand the provisions of vicarious liability.
