SC: Preventive Detention Law is a Colonial Legacy - (12 Apr 2023)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court while observing that preventive detention law is a colonial legacy, has held that every procedural rigidity must be followed in entirety by Government in cases of preventive detention, and every lapse in procedure must give rise to a benefit to the case of the detenue.
