The Reserve Bank of India continued its trend of “ascending size of numerals” on bank notes with changes to Rs. 100 currency notes. The notes will be identical to the Mahatma Gandhi Series - 2005 notes save for: inset letter ‘L’, ascending size numerals and ‘2015’ as the year of printing.

Banknotes in the Rs. 100 denomination will continue to be legal tender.
